The story of our expertise

The history of Weiss dates back to the founding of Weiss GmbH by the Weiss brothers in Germany in 1922. Initially established as a manufacturer of combustion systems, the company quickly established itself as a major player in the field. In 1987, the German company was acquired by Nordfab A/S, a Danish firm specializing in extraction and air filtration solutions.

The year 1990 marked a decisive turning point with the creation of the French entity of Weiss. In 1995, a new shareholder, AP Moller, took control of the company and handed over its management to the existing leadership team. Under this new direction, Weiss became a French-owned company, fully independent. Alongside its counterparts, Weiss GmbH in Germany and Weiss A/S in Denmark, Weiss continues to thrive, building on its expertise in the development of innovative combustion systems.

In 2012, Weiss became a subsidiary of the Roullier Group, an agro-industrial group founded in 1959 and based in Saint-Malo, France, and 100% owned by the Roullier family. Led by Frédéric Autret, the company continued its development in the French market and gradually became a major player in the national biomass industry.

Starting in 2024, Weiss entered a new era, marked by its emergence as the undisputed leader in the French market. Driven by bold development ambitions, the company firmly positions itself as a major player in the energy sector. This period represents a decisive turning point, as Weiss France Énergie strengthens its commitment to innovation and excellence. The company’s solid foundations, built over decades, are reinforced, laying the groundwork for sustained and sustainable growth.
